Tata Nano and the Singur Issue - Mamata Banerjee's dangerous political game

Is Mamata Banerjee a bitch who is out to gain political mileage by acting to promote the farmer's cause or is she the true savior as she seeks to project herself? Well, its hard to answer this especially without knowing the truth behind the protests.

There is definitely a point in the protests but, only if, the farmers are not adequately compensated for their lands and also for their future. What I mean by that is if farmers were paid much below the market prices and if they are not being offered any kind of jobs within the plant, however menial it maybe, that can ensure their future income.

In my opinion the small farmers are better off selling their land and getting employed. Farming is no easy job anymore - We hear news about the suicides from so many parts of the country, don't we?

Protests, for any other reason, is either purely political or Tata's corporate rivals could be playing their dirty games to stall the Nano from taking off.

I have to praise Mamata for one thing - the timing of her entry. She waited till the last moments to take up this cause knowing fully well that Tata's have no option but to settle when the plant is at its final stages. Its too expensive for Tata's to move anywhere else at this point and this could put the entier Nano thing at risk. She is a shrewd woman, thats for sure.

So whatever may be the motives there is only one way out i.e for Tata's and the West Bengal Govt. to compromise and give in to some, if not all, of the demands.

You are right on.
Few Facts as follows:

1. Her party has only one agenda. ANTI-CPM. This is the problem of having democracy in a country where majority of the population have no education. CPM Govt exploited the un-educated rural population of Bengal by coming up with Bargadar concepts and so on.
The strong 25 yrs + foothold of CPM party is grass-rooted in the rural sectors of WB. TMC was formed with the ANTI-CPM agenda to begin with, and their only goal being how to get CPM out of power from W.B. In the last election after Mamata and her team won a few seats in rural Bengal, she got confidence, and she pursued further in that direction trying to buy votes from the what was previously strong hold region of CPM.

Make no mistake, Mamata is not a great person or a patriot. She is a fully manipulative an political person, who is trying to win seats for her party.

Step, back and think for a moment. Any educated person who has a basic exposure of current world, understands that it is the ultimate blunder for the people of W.B if Nano project is pushed down the drains. But, yet, because, Mamata has nothing to do with the welfare of the state, she does not believe in bipartisan solution to the problem. Her ANTI-CPM obsession supported by ANTI-TATA industrialists have fueled and funded her sick 18th century politics and done irreparable damage to our state.

We need new leaders who are educated and has vision to lead. People like Mamata are cancer to our country and should be investigated by CBI and should be punished for putting their personal motives above and before the state and its people.

It truly sucks !

She is of all things not a well-wisher of Bengal. She is only bothered of winning votes from the rural w.bengal population, because her parties only
